Week 10 Bird Fight on Thursday Night

on Nov 8, 2017 |

An NFC West showdown is on tap for this week’s Thursday night game pitting bird against bird, though really, would a cardinal have a chance against a sea hawk in the wild? Well, maybe football is mimicking nature this week as the 5-3 Seattle Seahawks travel South to take on the 4-4 Arizona Cardinals. The line on this one has the Seahawks favored by 6 points. Seattle has looked like Seattle pretty much all season long. Russell Wilson starting out slow, then noticeably picking up his game and the defense showing up most weeks. However, the team has struggled all season long to run the ball (other than Wilson) and they somehow lost last week to a struggling Redskins team on a last minute drive…at home no less. That game is probably holding down some of the expectations in this game and does put some pressure on the team to show that was a fluke. Stats the Seahawks Like...

Surprising Bills Meet Surprising Jets

on Nov 2, 2017 |

This Thursday night’s game brings us an interesting inter-divisional rivalry between two teams that have both surprised so far this year. The surprising Buffalo Bills at 5-2 are sitting in second place in the AFC East and travel to New York to take on the surprising Jets who are 3-5 (yes that is very surprising for a team that wasn’t expected to win a game this year). The Bills have been winning with a combination of a strong defense, a scrambling quarterback and one of the best running backs in the game. The defense has been stout all year, only giving up more than 17 points once so far (against the Buccaneers). Tyrod Taylor has been getting it done with a combination of yards through the air and on the ground. LeSean McCoy has been his usual self gaining plenty of yards on the ground and through the air. If this trend keeps up against the Jets, the Bills should be in good...

Dolphins and Ravens Look to Find Some Offense Thursday Night

on Oct 25, 2017 |

Whoa boy, we were spoiled the last few weeks with good Thursday night matchups. Now we are back to the less than exciting (outside of Miami or Baltimore) Dolphins vs. Ravens and the lowest game total of the week at 37. Fans of low scoring defensive struggles (there has to be someone, right?) should really enjoy this game. The surprising Miami Dolphins are 4-2 after winning their last 3 games (one against the Super Bowl loosing Atlanta Falcons…in Atlanta). It’s even more surprising that the Dolphins are doing so well with an emergency quarterback in Jay Cutler and now a backup to the emergency quarterback in Matt Moore, who led an unbelievable comeback against the Jets last week.  Add to that the relative ineffectiveness of Jay Ajayi all season and this team feels quite lucky to be sitting at 4-2, but sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good, and this week they...
